espagn-yes not an espagnol in Peralada
Life in Progress traveled to Festival Castell de Peralada. This is a festival in a beautiful castle in a village on the outskirts of Girona. Here, Life in Progress was performed at the tours last outside venue to a sold out audience. Despite some rain delaying things the resilient audience were incredibly enthusiastic and as always the show was met with a standing ovation.
Pictured above are Brigel and Emanuela, two of the dancers, warming up as the three musicians sound check and give them a beat to move to.

ICH L¡EBE M¡LONGA
Sidi Larbi’s m¡longa was in Stuttgart last week where it was performed at Theaterhaus Stuttgart as part of Tanzfestival Colour.
The show went down incredibly well and the audience quite literally wouldn’t stop clapping.
If you’ve seen the show you may well recognise some of the faces pictured above from the stage. But also in this photo the dancers are joined by some of m¡longa’s hard-working technicians and one of our producers and a familiar face on the blog, Sandra.

Ly-onwards and upwards for Life in Progress
Another week and another festival for the jam-packed Life in Progress schedule. This week the show was at Les Nuìts de Fourvière – a two month long theatre, dance, music, and cinema festival that takes place in the Gallo-Roman outdoor theatres of Fourvière.
Life in Progress was performed in the Grand Theatre, pictured above before the sun started to set and the show began. And what an atmospheric location! The audience as always were captivated and threw the cushions they’d been sat on at the stage at the end – a French custom way of clapping, or so they said.

Crème de la Kremlin
Life In Progress was performed three times at Chekhov International Theatre Festival in Moscow this week. The show was on at the Moscow State Academic Mossovet Theatre with a packed audience each night consisting of just under nine hundred people. The captivated audience broke out into a wild applause at the end, which was too much for some with one overzealous audience member running on stage, planting a kiss on Sylvie before disappearing into the night!
Above is the team: dancers, musicians, technicians, and producers having a spot of lunch with the UK ambassador in Russia at the Kremlin.

That’s Norway To Tango
This week m¡longa is on the stage of The Norwegian Opera House for six performances. The shows have been met by a fantastic response – culminating in all of the audience up on their feet for a standing ovation.
And what a beautiful theatre for a beautiful show: The cast and crew were able to wade through the Fjord and all the way up the slopping roof before delivering the best alternative take on tango that exists.
Next up for m¡longa: Stuttgart.

One Hundred Years of M¡longa-Tude
This week m¡longa had its one hundredth performance. This took place at no better location than the Sadler’s Wells stage itself.
Since its premiere m¡longa has visited fifteen different countries at thirty-two different venues, across four different continents. Including New York City Centre, Sydney Opera House, and Theatre du Jorat, in the Swiss Alps where it premiered.
But don’t worry m¡longa is still going strong and it’s tour continues – next stop Stuttgart/Oslo. Keep checking the blog to find out what goes down there.

¡Good Morning Argentina (and other Spanish speaking nations)!
Our very own Sandra Castell-Garcia was behind the mike live on the airwaves on Friday talking all things m¡longa in the run up to the performances at Sadler’s Wells this week. Speaking in her native Spanish, she discussed the show with the presenter.
Want to listen to the show? Click here.
And if you can’t speak Spanish fear not – all you need to know is that as a show, m¡longa is muy muy bien!

Life In Progress’ tour is a major tour not a minotaur
This week Life In Progress was in Athens as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival 2015. Situated right next to the Acropolis in the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, an outdoor amphitheatre pictured above, it was hard to imagine a more picturesque spot for the Greek goodbye (or αντίo) to Sylvie.
Over nine thousand people were enchanted by the spell binding show causing an atmosphere so electric it rivalled Zeus’ own lightning bolt.
This picture was taken by Nick Rundall the shows sound engineer and the production manager Andy Downie is in the left corner preparing everything for a perfect performance.
